The Macmillan Publishing company will be
holding its 29th Teachers’ Day in The purpose of the event is “to provide a forum for teachers to meet and recycle knowledge and skills by attending interesting and varied workshops that give relevant and practical ideas for the classroom”. In this session we celebrate not only the typical festivals but also the diversity of techniques that, as primary teachers, we can employ with our pupils - techniques that, when appropriate, can be transferred to lessons throughout the year, festival day or not.

JOSIE DELGADO Once
upon a time …(3 to 7-year-olds) Stories provide meaningful experiences for children. Not only can the purpose for language learning and meaning become clear, but they can inspire, arouse curiosity and foster creativity. In this session we take a simple story and demonstrate how we can achieve this through a range of activities that engage children both physically and mentally in language learning, build on prior knowledge and help them to discover more about the world around them.
Josie is an experienced language school
teacher, having taught learners of every level of English. She worked as a

Powerpoint in class Salón de Actos 2nd & 3rd cycle Primary (8 to 12-year-olds) As a teacher, I don't feel an urgent need to use new technologies in the classroom - I was and am happy teaching with a blackboard, some chalk and a lot of imagination! But I have to recognise that Powerpoint has added a new dimension to my lessons that the pupils respond positively to. It's not for every day, but it has become another useful tool in my teacher's toolkit. ... In this session, I will demonstrate some of my pupils' favourite games and activities using Powerpoint, activities that can also be adapted to classrooms that are not equipped with computer technology.
