Living Reflections from a Dream

The Valencian consortium of agricultural co-operatives Anecoop, have been busy in their research farm in Museros near Valencia. Their wizards have come up with a new version of the mandarin and, although the word suggests Chinese, have taken advantage of the English language, which all of their clever engineers speak like natives of somewhere or other, and named ‘Clemensoon’ (a cross between ‘Clementine’, a variety of that sweet orange fruit that is not an orange, and ‘soon’, referring to its ‘early’ ripening; although the manly farmers assure worried consumers that this wonderful new variety will not make anybody come too soon). (Au contraire!).

Unlike the wintry mandarin, the Clemensoon will be swinging gaily from the branches as early as September, and will be exclusively produced by members and associates of the Valencian cooperative.
